new to me

there are some new to me things around the house. i’ve held back on this because it originates from a terribly sad fact: a lot of the treasures used to be my grandmothers. it feels a little cheap posting about the good things i discovered while cleaning out her office and craft room. at the same time, i’m happy to have some of her treasures to add to our home and i’m happy to be using some of the supplies that were special enough to her to save. so…

some new sewing treasures.

a pendleton purse. why not?

a tin with some fun supplies inside. usa pottery. vintage mirror. glove forms i’ll use for display at the craft fair. and old feed bag…

many supplies which, when worked together with just a few of my own supplies, made something new and wonderful! (more about that later this week…)

(not having to do with my grandmother) i’m teaching (0r trying to teach) myself to play the guitar. it’s been on the “list” for quite a while, and i’ve finally decided to just jump in. is it sad that after a week, i can only play two chords?

from the infamous (to me) collection of dolls, a pair for mama and a little raggedy anne for belle.

candles and cocoa (the big 100)

(wow! i can’t believe that this is my 100th post! i thought it would feel more monumental, but it’s just another tale of another day. i think i like it that way.)

sometimes an everyday morning calls for something more than the normal routines. yes, candles are for winter nights when it gets dark before dinner time. yes, cocoa is for those moments when we’ve just come in from a cold and snowy adventure and need to warm ourselves from the inside out.

but today? today candles and cocoa were part of breakfast.

girls only

isabelle and i went on an adventure with my parents (okay, so one person in our group was not a girl) into the woods behind our house. it was really special for isabelle to get some time with her nana and gaga without brother around. of course, she loves all of the attention! nana and isabelle explored the woods toghether and i had fun watching the two of them!

we had to climb over a few fences.

isabelle got a little grouchy when i kept taking her picture…

she picked up a totally disgusting caterpillar and i had to pretend to “like” it.

there was fungi to examine. and snuggles to be had…
