back with a yellow submarine

it feels like i’ve been gone from here forever! malware affecting the older versions of wordpress, blah blah blah…it’s fixed and i’m back! and i’m so excited about our latest project!

at preschool, wyatt’s class is learning “octopus’s garden” and they have this cool collaged book to look at as they sing. he wanted to make our own version at home (okay!), but then i though of a little modification: we both love “yellow submarine” so i suggested we make a book to go with that song. wyatt loved the idea! we started with some painted pages, some coloring, cutting, tearing, and watercolors. after trimming and gluing, these are the pages we have so far. there will be 10 when we’re done. i have to write on the lyrics and get the pages laminated and bound. isabelle and eli have been helping with the artwork. it’s so fun to see them all collaborating on a project. and wyatt can’t wait to bring it to “pass around” at school! hooray!

lunch

a new favorite in-town adventure: luncing with nana. she’s got a new job and for us that means a new place to visit. there’s a great picnic table outside her building with pine trees and a little lawn to play on. right now the kids are loving: pine cones, dirt (what’s new?!), climbing on low branches and ants!
