perhaps oddly, but not at our house, almost the first thing for cris to say to me in the morning is, “what time did you go to bed last night?” the question is typically asked after he has wandered into the kitchen where my latest creation hangs from the cubbord knob for all (yes, by all, i do mostly mean myself) to admire. this morning, my answer was, “eleven.” The question was prompted by this:

i bought this sweet thyme fabric on etsy (i don’t remember the seller info) and have been loving it all washed and folded in my fabric pile. but, enough is enough – last night i decided that i couldn’t go to bed before making it into a dress. i used the built by wendy dress book for the skirt and the bodice came from a quick sew pattern. i then followed wendy’s steps for construction and was finished in no time!

i had to take a picture last night, but the lack of natural light left something to be disired…

luckly it is so sunny and beautiful again today that i did get a great pic (the first one). now the big dilemma for today: sewing or sunshine? i’ll let the kids decide!
